Kliniske undersøgelser tyder på, at hjerneskade kan øge risikoen for psykiatriske lidelser26,27. Desuden påvirker TBI udviklingen af social adfærd28,29. Konkurrence inden for arter opstår, når medlemmer af samme art konkurrerer om en begrænset ressource på samme tid1. I modsætning hertil opstår der konkurrence mellem arter mellem medlemmer af to forskellige arter2. Konkurrence inden for arter er opdelt i to typer, herunder interferens (tilpasset) og udnyttelse (konkurrence), og opstår afhængigt af den type ressource, der er omstridt, såsom mad og territorium3.
Eksistensen af sociale hierarkier er umulig uden dominerende-underdanige relationer (DSR'er). Dominans præsenterer sig som "vindende" og underordnelse som "taber" inden for dyrepar4. DSR'er vises dog ikke kun parvis, men også i grupper på tre eller flere. I 1922 beskrev Thorleif Schjelderup-Ebbe dominanshierarkiet hos tamkyllinger. De vigtigste kendetegn mellem de dominerende og underordnede dyr var tid brugt ved foderautomaten og aggressiv adfærd. Dominanshierarkiet er opdelt i to former: lineær og ikke-lineær5. Lineær dominans involverer to grupper, A og B. I dette paradigme af transitive relationer6 dominerer gruppe A gruppe B, eller gruppe B dominerer gruppe A. Ikke-lineær dominans opstår, når der er mindst et cirkulært forhold: A dominerer B, B dominerer C og C dominerer A7.
Der findes modeller til vurdering af dominerende-underdanig adfærd for forskellige arter, herunder gnavere, fugle8, ikke-menneskelige primater 9,10,11 og mennesker 12. Den dominerende-underdanige metode er godt repræsenteret i litteraturen og er blevet anvendt som model til vurdering af mani og depression13 samt antidepressiv lægemiddelaktivitet14. Denne model er blevet brugt til at undersøge stress tidligt i livet efter moderens adskillelse hos voksne rotter15. DSR-paradigmerne kan opdeles i tre modeller: reduktionen af dominerende adfærdsmodel 13,16, reduktionen af underdanig adfærd model14 og klonidin-vending af dominansmodel17.
Denne undersøgelse viser en undersøgelse af DSR gennem opgaver baseret på fødevarekonkurrence. Fordelene ved denne metode er dens lette reproducerbarhed og evnen til at observere og nøjagtigt analysere dominerende-underdanig adfærd. Derudover er den dominerende-underdanige adfærdsmæssige opgave afhængig af mad snarere end territorium, i modsætning til sammenlignelige adfærdsmæssige opgaver, hvilket gør denne adfærdsmæssige opgave lavere omkostninger og enklere, og forskere behøver ikke at gennemgå kompliceret træning for at udføre opgaven og behandle dataene.
Det overordnede mål med det aktuelle studie er at demonstrere udviklingen af DSR efter traumatisk hjerneskade (TBI). TBI er forbundet med sociale svækkelser, depression og angst. Modellen til at inducere TBI er en enkel og effektiv standardmodel, der involverer inducering af traumatisk hjerneskade med en fluid percussion enhed18,19.

Fordelene ved denne metode er dens lette reproducerbarhed og evnen til at observere og nøjagtigt analysere dominerende-underdanig adfærd.Den dominerende-underdanige metode er godt repræsenteret i litteraturen og er blevet anvendt som model til vurdering af mani og depression. Denne model er også blevet brugt til at undersøge stress tidligt i livet efter moderens adskillelse hos voksne rotter. For at begynde skal du vælge 30 voksne mænd tilfældigt.Opdel dem i traumatiske hjerneskade og falske grupper. Giv chow og vand ad libitum.
