Um modelo animal de hipoparatireoidismo adquirido (HypoPT) é crucial para entender como o HypoPT afeta a homeostase de íons minerais e para verificar a eficácia de novos tratamentos. Aqui, uma técnica é apresentada para gerar um modelo de hipoparatireoidismo adquirido (AHypoPT) em ratos por paratireoidectomia (PTX) usando nanopartículas de carbono.
