클리닉에서 위의 위험을 관리하기 위해서는 허혈 및 면역 억제 탐색을 위한 적절한 동물 모델이 필요합니다. 동물 모델에 대해 임상적으로 가장 관련성이 높은 종점은 성공적인 출산입니다. 현재까지, 실험적인 UTx에 따른 임신은 생쥐, 쥐, 양, 토끼, 시노몰구스 원숭이8에서 이루어졌다. 더 큰 동물은 수술 기술을 습득하고 최적화하도록 예정되어 있지만 설치류는 짧은 임신 기간이라는 뚜렷한 이점이 있습니다. 따라서 설치류 모델은 실질적, 재정적, 윤리적 고려 사항에서 우수하다9. 그러나 생쥐에서 UTx의 주요 과제는 작은 해부학이며, 매우 까다로운 수술은 쥐 UTx10의 낮은 재현성과 관련이 있습니다. 대조적으로, 쥐는 외과적으로 더 쉽게 접근할 수 있고 짧은 임신 기간의 이점을 유지합니다. 따라서 쥐는 UTx9의 선택 모델이되었습니다.
