Ce modèle de porcelet implique l’instrumentation chirurgicale, l’asphyxie jusqu’à l’arrêt cardiaque, la réanimation et l’observation post-réanimation. Le modèle permet des prélèvements multiples par animal et, en utilisant la pression artérielle invasive continue, l’ECG et la surveillance non invasive du débit cardiaque, il fournit des connaissances sur l’hémodynamique et la physiopathologie cardiaque dans l’asphyxie périnatale et la réanimation cardiorespiratoire néonatale.
