DRG 뉴런은 다양한 크기, 수초화 수준, 유전자 및 수용체 발현 패턴을 나타냅니다. 더 작은 직경의 뉴런은 통증을 감지하는 뉴런을 포함하며, 더 큰 직경의 뉴런은 전형적으로 통증이 없는 기계적 자극에 반응한다 5,6. 손상, 만성 염증 및 말초 신경 병증과 같은 일차 감각 뉴런의 장애는 이러한 뉴런을 다양한 자극에 민감하게 만들고 만성 통증, 이질통 및 통증 과민증에 기여할 수 있습니다 7,8. 따라서 DRG 뉴런에 대한 연구는 일반적으로 체성 감각과 많은 통증 및 가려움 장애를 이해하는 데 중요합니다.
생체 내에서 발화하는 뉴런은 체성 감각에 필수적이지만, 최근까지 생체 내에서 온전한 신경절을 연구하는 도구는 상대적으로 적은 수의 세포로 제한되어 왔다9. 여기에서 우리는 생체 내 인구 수준에서 뉴런의 활동 전위 또는 활동을 앙상블로 연구하는 강력한 방법을 설명합니다. 이 방법은 세포질Ca2+ 역학에 기초한 이미징을 사용한다.
