テルペン、フラボノイド、アルカロイド、ポリフェノール、シアン化グルコシドなど、さまざまな化学分子が、H. armigeraの蔓延の防除に広く用いられている7。しかし、化学分子の頻繁な適用は、それらの残留物の獲得により、環境および人間の健康に悪影響を及ぼします。また、それらはさまざまな害虫捕食者に有害な影響を及ぼし、生態学的不均衡をもたらします8,9。したがって、害虫駆除の化学分子の安全で環境に優しいオプションを調査する必要があります。

この研究は、ケルセチンが H. armigera の生存と適応度に及ぼす影響を評価するための義務的な摂食アッセイを実証することを目的としています。昆虫の体重、死亡率、発達障害などのさまざまなパラメータを評価することで、ケルセチンの殺虫効果に関する洞察が得られます。一方、摂取食品の変換効率(ECI)、消化食品の変換効率(ECD)、おおよその消化率(AD)などの栄養パラメータを測定することで、ケルセチンの抗摂食特性が浮き彫りになります。
