Natalie earned her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Manchester in 2000 and then moved to Australia to obtain her doctorate in Reproductive Physiology and Molecular Biology of marsupials at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She completed two post-doctoral fellowships at Mississippi State in University and San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research in the United States before returning to Australia permanently.
Her career interests have since taken a different direction from marsupials and she now focuses on amphibian reproduction, endocrinology, and nutrition. Of particular interest to Natalie are the application of assisted reproductive techniques for captive breeding of endangered amphibians and the subsequent effects of, and responses to, environmental change and disease after amphibians are reintroduced into the wild.
