I am a trained pharmacists and have received my PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich in 2013. For my thesis, I have been awarded the ETH medal for outstanding doctoral theses and the Rottendorf "Europa-Award". From 2013-2016 I was a Marie-Curie Fellow and a German Academic Exchange Service Postdoc at Imperial College London. Since 2016 I am heading the Junior Research Group Biogenic Nanotherapeutics at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS). For this, I am funded through the NanoMatFutur porgramme from the Federal Ministry fro Research and Education (BMBF). I am founder and board member of the German Society for Extracellular Vesicles (gsev.org). In 2017, I received the prestiguous Technology Award from the Galenus Foundation for my contribution to modern drug delivery avenues.
