Frederic PerezÁlvarez is a Neuropediatrician of the Foundation Carme Vidal Xifre de NeuroPsicoPedagogia. Emeritus and former Principal Neuropediatrician of the Neuropediatric Unit at the Hospital Universitari Dr J Trueta, Girona, Catalunya, Spain. He received his specialist degree and a PhD from the University of Barcelona, Catalunya ,Spain.
He has developed an intense R&D activity in the field of medicine, pediatric neurology, and behavioral neurology including 10 books, more than 60 national and international papers with JCR impact factor (Web of Science), more than 100 congress contributions at national and international conferences, and 8 PhD theses in the University of Girona. He has published in Lancet; Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica; American Journal of Medical Genetics; Archives of Disease in Childhood; Brain and Development; Child´s Nervous System; Dysmorphology and Clinical Genetics; Epilepsia; Human Brain Mapping; Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry; Journal of Neurotherapy; Neurología; Neuropediatrics; Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment; Revista de Neurologia; Stroke; The Journal of Neuroscience. He is a full member of several national and international Professional Organization, including the European Academy of Childhood Disability (EACD). Also, he is a researcher affiliate with the JP Das Centre on Developmental and Learning Disabilities, Alberta, Canada.
Within the Institute of Research on Quality of Life of the University of Girona, his research program encompasses the cognitive and emotional neurological mechanisms that explain human behavior and interpersonal communication.
