Emmanuel Ibarboure is Engineer at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie, de Biologie et de Physique (ENSCBP) in Bordeaux Polytechnic Institute (Bordeaux INP- France). He received a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Bordeaux.
Since 1997, he has been an engineer in materials science at the Laboratoire des Polymères Organiques (LCPO-UMR 5629) as responsible of thermal and mechanical analysis. From 2004 to 2011, he then worked on the control and analysis of surface properties in polymer blends by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) with Prof. Eric Papon (University of Bordeaux). Since 2011, he has joined the group headed by Prof. Sebastien Lecommandoux (ENSCBP-Bordeaux INP). His current research interests are focused on the mechanical assessment of giant polymersomes membrane using different techniques such as micropipette aspiration, osmotic shock, and fluorescence microscopy. He is co-authored of 70 publications in highly ranked journals in polymers and materials science.
