I am a Postdoc in the Lab of Nic Tapon at the Francis Crick Institute of London, UK. I received my undergraduate degrees cum laude in Italy at the University of Palermo (Bachelor’s Degree) and at the University of Parma (Master’s Degree), respectively. After getting my undergraduate degrees I moved to Spain where, in 2016, I received the PhD cum laude at the IBMB-CSIC Institute in Barcelona in the Lab of Enrique Martin-Blanco (Developmental Biology Department).
During my University studies and PhD I developed a strong interest on developmental and cell biology. In the course of my PhD I focus on understanding how cells arrange themselves in ordinary patterns in epithelial tissues as they grow and differentiate. As a Postdoc (since 2016) in Nic Tapon Lab at the Francis Crick Institute in London, UK, I am studying how sensory organs fully differentiate to enable touch-sensitive responses in epithelial tissues.
