Previous studies in Drosophila have demonstrated that whether flies fight like males or females can be switched by selectively manipulating genes of the sex determination hierarchy in male and female nervous systems. Here we extend these studies by demonstrating that changing the sex of cholinergic neurons in male fruit fly nervous systems via expression of the transformer gene increases the levels of aggression shown by the flies without altering the way the flies fight. Transformer manipulation in this way does not change phototaxis, geotaxis, locomotion or odor avoidance of the mutant males compared to controls. Cholinergic neurons must be feminized via this route during the late larval/early pupal stages of development to show the enhanced aggression phenotype. Other investigators have shown that this is the same time period during which sexually dimorphic patterns of behavior are specified in flies. Neurons that co-express fruitless and choline acetyl transferase are found in varying numbers within different clusters of fruitless-expressing neurons: together they make up approximately 10% of the pool of fruitless-expressing neurons in the brain and nerve cord.

Des &#xE9;tudes ant&#xE9;rieures chez la drosophile ont d&#xE9;montr&#xE9; que si la lutte qui vole comme m&#xE2;les ou des femelles peut &#xEA;tre commut&#xE9;e par s&#xE9;lectivement manipulant les g&#xE8;nes de la hi&#xE9;rarchie dans la d&#xE9;termination du sexe masculins et f&#xE9;minins du syst&#xE8;me nerveux. Ici, nous &#xE9;tendons ces &#xE9;tudes en montrant que changer le sexe des neurones cholinergiques dans les fruits m&#xE2;les volent le syst&#xE8;me nerveux via l&#x26;#39;expression du g&#xE8;ne du transformateur augmente les niveaux d&#x26;#39;agressivit&#xE9; montr&#xE9;s par les mouches, sans alt&#xE9;rer la fa&#xE7;on dont les mouches lutte. Les neurones cholinergiques doit &#xEA;tre f&#xE9;minis&#xE9;e par cette voie au cours de la fin du larvaires / premiers stades de d&#xE9;veloppement des pupes de montrer le ph&#xE9;notype agression accrue. D&#x26;#39;autres chercheurs ont montr&#xE9; que ce n&#x26;#39;est de la m&#xEA;me p&#xE9;riode au cours de laquelle les mod&#xE8;les de comportement sexuellement dimorphes sont sp&#xE9;cifi&#xE9;es dans les mouches. Fr&uuml;here Studien in Drosophila haben bewiesen, dass ob fliegen Kampf wie m&auml;nnliche oder weibliche gewechselt werden kann, indem Sie selektiv bearbeiten Gene der Geschlecht-Bestimmung-Hierarchie in m&auml;nnliche und weibliche Nervensystem. Andere Forscher haben gezeigt, dass dies im selben Zeitraum w&auml;hrend dessen sexuell dimorphe Verhaltensmuster in fliegen angegeben sind. Neuronen, die unfruchtbare co-express und Cholin Acetyl Transferase befinden sich in unterschiedlichen Zahlen verschiedenen Clustern von Neuronen fruchtlosen auszudr&uuml;cken: sie bilden zusammen etwa 10 % des Pools fruchtlosen Ausdr&uuml;cken von Neuronen im Gehirn und Nerven R&uuml;ckenmark.

Precedenti studi in Drosophila hanno dimostrato che se mosche lotta come maschi o femmine pu&ograve; essere commutato manipolando selettivamente i geni della gerarchia determinazione sesso nel sistema nervoso maschile e femminile. Qui abbiamo estendere questi studi dimostrando che cambiare il sesso dei neuroni colinergici nel sistema nervoso moscerino maschio attraverso l&#39;espressione del gene trasformatore aumenta i livelli di aggressione mostrato da mosche senza alterare il modo di combattono le mosche. Manipolazione di trasformatore in questo modo non cambia evasione fototassi, geotassi, locomozione o odore dei mutanti maschi rispetto ai controlli. I neuroni colinergici devono essere femminilizzati attraverso questo percorso durante le fasi larvali/primi pupa tarda dello sviluppo per mostrare il fenotipo di una maggiore aggressivit&agrave;. Altri ricercatori hanno dimostrato che questo stesso periodo di tempo durante il quale sessualmente dimorfici modelli di comportamento sono specificati nelle mosche. I neuroni che co-express inutili e trasferasi acetil colina si trovano in numeri variabili all&#39;interno di diversi gruppi di neuroni infruttuosi esprimendo: insieme essi costituiscono circa il 10% del pool di infruttuosi esprimendo i neuroni del cervello e nervose midollo.

Estudios previos han demostrado en Drosophila que si lucha moscas como machos o hembras se puede cambiar de forma selectiva la manipulaci&#xF3;n de los genes de la jerarqu&#xED;a de la determinaci&#xF3;n del sexo en los sistemas nerviosos masculinos y femeninos. Aqu&#xED; extender estos estudios demostrando que cambiar el sexo de las neuronas colin&#xE9;rgicas en fruta macho volar sistemas nerviosos v&#xED;a la expresi&#xF3;n del gen transformador aumenta los niveles de agresi&#xF3;n mostrados por las moscas sin alterar la forma en que las moscas lucha. La manipulaci&#xF3;n del transformador de esta manera no cambia fototaxis, geotaxis, la locomoci&#xF3;n o la evitaci&#xF3;n olor de los machos mutantes en comparaci&#xF3;n con los controles. Las neuronas colin&#xE9;rgicas debe ser feminizado a trav&#xE9;s de esta v&#xED;a durante las &#xFA;ltimas etapas larvales de pupas / principios de desarrollo para mostrar el fenotipo de una agresi&#xF3;n mayor. Otros investigadores han demostrado que este es el mismo per&#xED;odo de tiempo durante el cual los patrones de dimorfismo sexual de la conducta se especifican en las moscas. Prognostic signs for the identification of patients with acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (SICH) prone to hematoma expansion are limited. Contrast extravasation (spot signs, SpS) on computed tomographic angiography (CTA) may be a promising method to predict hematoma expansion in acute SICH. However, prospective data on the predictive value of the SpS on hematoma expansion and clinical outcome are still limited. We aimed to investigate associations between the presence of SpS, hematoma expansion, and clinical outcome in acute SICH.

Spot signs in intracerebral hemorrhage: useful for identifying patients at risk for hematoma enlargement?

Due to its sensitivity to deoxyhemoglobin, susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) enables the visualization of deep medullary veins (DMV) in patients with acute stroke, which are difficult to depict under physiological circumstances. This study assesses the asymmetric appearance of prominent DMV as an independent predictor for stroke severity and outcome.
