Muriel Leandra Schicketanz is a Ph.D. student in the Section of Functional Genomics at the University of Copenhagen, DK.
She obtained her Bachelor of Science in biology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, GER, partly funded by the governmental scholarship “Deutschlandstipendium” for highly talented students. During her bachelor’s studies, she studied a semester at the University of Sheffield, UK, with an Erasmus + grant.
Afterward, she continued with her Master of Philosophy in Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, UK. Her master’s project investigated Quorum sensing in the plant pathogen Dickeya solani, and after very successfully finishing her master’s studies, she was awarded a TALENT scholarship (Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship) at the University of Copenhagen.
During her Ph.D., she studies the stringent response, and in particular, the molecular regulation of SpoT in E. coli.
