Christian Friess is a Medical Student at the Technical University Munich and is currently doing his Doctor of Medicine (Dr. med.) at the Department of Physiological Genomics at the Biomedical Center of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich.
During his medical training, Christian Friess was intrigued by the future potential of stem cell-based therapies, especially for neurological disorders. As medical doctoral student in the Lab of Magdalena Götz, he studied the extracellular microenvironment in the neurogenic subependymal zone (SEZ) and non-neurogenic brain regions, using mice as a model organism, to contribute to a better understanding of the influence of the microenvironment on stem cell survival.
Christian Friess holds a scholarship of the German National Academic Foundation.
