I conducted my Ph.D. at LIU College of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics under Professor Grazia Stagni. Here I worked on an FDA-funded grant which investigated standards for dermal microdialysis experiments to quantify active pharmaceutical ingredients. The result of this work is an additional grant that utilized a technique that we called "dermal infusion" to understand the in vivo absorption function. I then moved on to Professor Conor L. Evans lab where I further investigated cutaneous pharmacokinetics but with a technique called coherent Raman scattering imaging. We were able to quantify topical APIs and visualize their biodistribution and how excipients may ultimately influence the cutaneous PK of a compound.
