Dr. Przemyslaw Data is currently Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology (Poland). He started his scientific work during Master studies which resulted in employment at Polish Academy of Sciences, Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials in 2007. After that, he received the Master of Science and Engineering degree (2008) and PhD with honors in Chemistry (2013) at the Silesian University of Technology in Poland. In his PhD thesis, he went beyond the field of electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical processes involved in synthesis and analysis of selenophene- and tellurophene- based conjugated polymers. He pioneered the use of such compounds as both emitters and electrochromic windows in devices. As a award for his PhD thesis, Dr. Data received Polish Prime Ministry Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation.
After completing his PhD, Dr. Data received 2-year postdoctoral fellowship funded by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education project Mobility Plus and work at Durham University on the use of Exciplexes as Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF) emitters in Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs). Before Dr. Data finished his Polish funded fellowship, he successfully applied for H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship to extend his work at Durham University on Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence materials for next two years. After the fellowship, he was appointed as the experienced researcher at Durham University jointly with the Silesian University of Technology, he followed the work on Organic Electronics topics.
Dr. Przemyslaw Data is a member of International Society of Electrochemistry and Royal Society of Chemistry. Dr. Data is a winner of many Polish awards: Polish Prime Ministry Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation, Winner of the competition for scientific projects, Individual Award of Rector of the Silesian University of Technology for Scientific Achievements and Awards for Organisations. Dr. Data has also a received MIT Innovator Under 35 (2017 Polish Edition) award and MSCA Individual Fellowship. He is a coordinator of many Polish (National Science Centre, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Foundation for Polish Science) and European (FP7, H2020) funded grants like MSCA Innovative Training Network (EXCILIGHT), TWINN (ORZEL) or MSCA RISE (OCTA).
