Zekai Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Industry Catalysis Department, College of Chemical Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology in Hangzhou, China. He received his bachelor degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, and a Ph.D. from Dalian Institute of Chemical physics, Chinese Academy of Science, China.
His main research field is air pollution control by heterogeneous catalysis. During his Ph.D., he studied the olefin alkylation thiophene sulfur process for gasoline desulfurization. After graduation he moved to Zhejiang University of Technology, and worked on NH3-SCR. In 2015 he went to CNRS-PROMES lab as a visiting scholar, where he learned the knowledge about CO2 reduction and utilization by concentrating solar energy.
Now he is work on the CO2 photoreduction by concentrating solar energy. He is trying to develop the subject from the viewpoint of chemical reaction engineering, such as the reactor system, the reaction kinetics, and the reaction mechanism.
