Oliver Beetz is currently a Research Fellow and Assistant Doctor at the Department of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery, Hannover Medical School, Germany.

He performed his medical training at Hannover Medical School, Germany, including electives in Australia (Royal Perth Hospital) and Switzerland (Kantonsspital Lucerne) under a scholarship of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. During his doctoral thesis at the Department of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery, Hannover Medical School, Germany he investigated mechanisms of tolerance and rejection in different microsurgical rat models. His current research focus includes surgical models and normothermic machine perfusion in organ transplantation.
