Meihua Wan, MD, PhD is an associate chief physician and medical group leader in the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Department at the West China Hospital of Sichuan University. She received her PhD degree from Sichuan University, and her MD degree from West China Hospital. Her research focuses on the etiology of pancreatic disease, mechanisms involved in the early inflammatory reaction of acute pancreatitis, and prevention and treatment of this disease. She has recently completed a sabbatical at Arizona State University to study new approaches to biomarker discovery for early disease diagnosis.
