I started working my way through science in a Cancer lab working with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. I gained a lot of experience with basic lab techniques doing Western Blots, Immunocytochemistry and a lot of qRT-PCRs. I got well equipped with newer techniques in different labs and started learning about GC-MS. My journey with Squamous Cancer continued and worked with mice developing cancers, performing Immunohistochemistry on lung tissues as well as xenografts. All of this experience helped me master the art of histology. Now I use this skill to immunostain bladders from women with Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection (rUTI) and also try to identify if they possess bacteria using FISH.
