Scientific and Biotechnological Bioresource Nucleus
Dr. Campos is a graduate of Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO), Temuco, Chile. His undergraduate formation was in Medical Technology with later formed an M. Sc. in Sciences with a mention in Microbiology (Universidad Austral de Chile) and Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Sciences of Natural Resources (UFRO). His investigation has been mainly focused on evaluating the bacterial role in the catabolism of pesticides and his participation in the recycling of some nutrients such as phosphorus (P) in soil and aquatic environments. He has investigated the role of whole bacterial communities and the phosphomoesterase-harboring bacteria populations involved in the persistence of the eutrophication phenomenon for freshwater ecosystems (rivers, lagoons, and lakes) and harmful algal blooms in Chilean coastal areas. Dr. Campos was beneficed from a postdoctoral position funded by the National Research and Development Agency (ANID) during 2018-2020 and currently involved in several other projects financed by ANID (International Cooperation Programs with China and U.S.A. as well as international (SATREPS-MACH project) and national institutions (PROMUEVE-BIOREN and Centro de Humedales Rio Cruces). Additionally, since 2021 Dr. Campos has officed as Associated Editor of Journal of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition (JSSPN) belonging from the prestigious Springer-Nature editorial. He has published several Q1 and Q2 articles indexed to WoS and tracked several others in the same line.
