Alessandro graduated in Medicine at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele (Milan, Italy) in 2014, with top marks and an experimental thesis on genetics in schizophrenia (Full title: “Exploring the effect of adducins genetic variability on cognition in schizophrenia”).
During his Med School, he spent some months abroad at the Yale University Cancer Center where he worked as a fellow researcher.
He graduated as a specialized Psychiatrist at the University of Milan in 2019, with top marks and an experimental thesis on machine learning applied to first episode psychosis (Full title: “Classification of first episode psychosis using machine learning techniques”). During his residency, he spent 18 months working at the Ludwig-Maximillan University in Munich (Germany), collaborating with the PRONIA group directed by Professor Koutsouleris.
From November 2019 he is enrolled in a PhD program in “Cognitive, Computational, and Social Neuroscience” at the IMT school for advanced studies (Lucca, Italy).
Authors and co-authors of more than 30 papers published on international peer-reviewed journals, he is an expert in the field of psychoses and mood disorders and he spent his last years studying prediction techniques (i.e. Machine learning) and novel algorithms to improve the clinical practice.
