Dr. Zhang is from P.R. China and finished his Ph.D. study in Marseille, France, with Tam Mignot. He then received an EMBO Long-Term Fellowship to work on cyclic di-AMP in Staphylococcus aureus at Imperial College London, with Angelika Gründling. After that, he moved to the University of Copenhagen, Denmark to work on ppGpp in E. coli with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship in Kenn Gerdes' group. Dr. Zhang is now a Principal Investigator at the University of Copenhagenand leads a group to study bacterial second messengers and antimicrobial tolerance and resistance.
