Various animal models of pulmonary fibrosis have been established using bleomycin to clarify the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and find new drug targets. However, most pulmonary fibrosis models targeting lung tissue have uneven drug administration. Here, we propose a model of uniform pulmonary fibrosis induced by nasal bleomycin nebulization.

Biomechanical Analysis of Adjacent Segments after Spinal Fusion Surgery Using a Geometrically Parametric Patient-Specific Finite Element Model
Yuming Wang 1, Qianyi Shen 2, Chang Liang 2, Yanzhu Shen 1, Xiangsheng Tang 1, Ping Yi 1
1Department of Spine Surgery, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, 2College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology

Here, we used a patient-specific finite element model to analyze the mechanical changes in adjacent segments after spinal fusion surgery. The results showed that fusion surgery reduced the overall motion of the lumbar spine but increased the load on and stress in adjacent segments, especially the proximal segment.

1Department of Immunology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Capital Medical University, 2Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Center of Respiratory Medicine, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, 3National Center for Respiratory Medicine

Here, we describe an in vitro model for isolating and differentiating murine airway epithelial cells, focusing on their acclimation to chronic cigarette smoke extract (CSE). The model could be utilized to comprehensively characterize the multi-omics impact of CSE, which possibly provides insights into the cellular responses under chronic smoke exposure.
