העובר תסיסנית היא מערכת מודל אטרקטיבי עבור חוקרת את בסיס תאית ומולקולרית של התפתחות עצבית. כאן אנו מתארים את הליך להדמיה של מערכת העצבים העוברית תסיסנית באמצעות נוגדנים חלבונים עצביים. מאז כל המערכות עובריים העצבים ההיקפית העצבים המרכזית מאופיינים גם ברמה של תאים בודדים (Dambly-Chaudière et al, 1986;.. בודמר et al, 1987;. בודמר et al, 1989), כל סטיות למערכות אלו יכולים ניתן לזהות בקלות באמצעות נוגדנים חלבונים עצביים שונים. עוברים לפתח נאספות בזמנים מסוימים על מנת להבטיח כי העוברים נמצאים בשלבי ההתפתחות הנכון להדמיה. לאחר איסוף, שכבות החיצוני של העובר, הקרום סיסית ואת המעטפה vitelline העוטף את העובר, יוסרו לפני קיבעון. עוברים מודגרת אז עם נוגדנים עצב דמיינו באמצעות נוגדנים משני שכותרתו fluorescently. עוברים בשלבים 12-17 הם דמיינו לגשת את מערכת העצבים העוברית. בשלב 12 את הלהקה CNS נבט מתחיל קיצור שלב 15 דפוס סופי של השליכה הושגה. עד שלב 17 CNS החוזים ואת PNS היא מפותחת (קמפוס, אורטגה et al. 1985). לפיכך שינויים בדפוס של PNS ו CNS ניתן להבחין בקלות במהלך השלבים ההתפתחותיים.
