Drosophila embriyo sinirsel gelişimi hücresel ve moleküler temelini araştırmak için çekici bir model sistem. Burada nöronal proteinler antikor kullanarak Drosophila Embriyonik sinir sisteminden görünüm için prosedürü açıklar. Tüm embriyonik periferik sinir ve merkezi sinir sistemi, tek tek hücrelerin (; Bodmer ve ark, 1987; Dambly-Chaudiere ve ark, 1986 Bodmer ve ark, 1989) bu yana, bu sistemleri herhangi bir sapmaları farklı nöronal proteinlere karşı antikorlar kullanarak kolayca tanımlanabilir. Evre 17 ile MSS sözleşmeleri ve PNS tamamen geliştirilmiştir (Campos-Ortega ve ark, 1985). Böylece PNS ve MSS desen değişiklikleri kolayca bu gelişim evrelerinde görülebilir.
