Menneskelig hjertevev havner multipotente perivaskulær forløper cellepopulasjoner som kan være egnet for hjerteinfarkt regenerering. Teknikken som er beskrevet her gjør det mulig for samtidig isolering og rensing av to multipotente stromale cellepopulasjoner forbundet med native blodkar, dvs. CD146 + CD34 - pericytes og CD34 + CD146 - adventitia-celler fra den humane myokardium.
