기존의 개방성 갑상선 절제술은 100년 이상 경추 절개를 사용하여 안전하게 수행되어 왔다1. 대부분의 환자들이 흉터 치유가 효율적이고 미용 효과가 일반적으로 인정되지만, 목에 생긴 영구적인 흉터는 항상 일반 관찰자들의 즉각적인 관심을 끌 수 있다2. 갑상선 절제술 후 환자의 약 20%가 자기 인식을 경험하고 있으며, 10% 이상은 흉터 제거를 위한 추가 치료를 고려하고 있다3. 또한, 자궁경부 절개가 건강 관련 삶의 질(HRQOL)에 미치는 부정적인 영향도 보고되었다4. 겨드랑이 유방, 겨드랑이, 후이, 쇄골하 접근법과 같은 갑상선 수술을 위한 다양한 원격 접근 접근법은 피부 절개를 덜 눈에 띄는 위치로 이동하여 눈에 보이는 목 흉터 5,6,7,8을 피하기 위해 개발되었습니다. 9 그러나 이러한 접근법은 갑상선에 접근하기 위해 넓은 플랩 절개가 필요하며 절개 부위에 피부 흉터를 남깁니다10.

transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach for thyroid lobectomy
