力学是工程学的基础学科之一，突出了对数学力学基础和理论知识的重视，注重培养学生的实践能力。随着现代科学技术的快速发展，纳米科学技术对人类生活和经济产生了巨大的影响。美国国家科学基金会（NSF）前主任丽塔·科尔威尔（Rita Colwell）在2002年宣布，纳米技术将产生与工业革命1相当的影响，并指出纳米技术确实是通往新世界的门户2。材料在纳米尺度上的力学性能是发展高科技应用的最基本和必要的因素之一，例如纳米器件3，4，5。材料在纳米尺度上的力学行为和应力作用下的结构演化已成为当前纳米力学研究的重要课题。
近年来，纳米压痕技术、电子显微镜技术、扫描探针显微镜等的发展和改进，使“原位 力学”实验成为纳米力学研究中重要的先进测试技术6，7。显然，从教学和科学研究的角度出发，有必要在力学实验的传统教学内容中引入前沿实验技术。
然而，微观力学的实验与宏观基础力学实验有显著的不同。一方面，尽管相关仪器设备已在几乎所有高校普及，但由于价格高昂和维护成本高，数量有限。短期内，不可能为线下教学购买足够的设备。即使有财力，离线实验的管理和维护成本也太高，因为这种类型的设备具有高精度的特点。
