Marie Mortreux is a postdoctoral fellow in the department of Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School) in Boston, MA. She obtained her B.Sc and M.Sc in genetics and life sciences, which were combined to laboratory work at l'Universita Degli Studi di Padova, Italy, and at the University of California San Francisco, USA. She then was awarded a PhD in physio-pathology in Paris, France in 2016.
During her training, Dr. Mortreux became proficient with several animal models including zebrafish, mice, and rats. After her PhD, Dr. Mortreux joined the Rutkove laboratory at Harvard Medical School, where she focuses on partial gravity. Using animal models, Dr. Mortreux developed a new partial gravity analogue model to better investigate the physiological changes that could occur in extra-terrestrial environments.
