Alma Vazquez-Flores is an associate professor at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, the same institution awarded her Ph.D. degree in 2016 and hosted her postdoctoral studies in 2018. With a degree in Chemistry, she has developed undergraduate and postgraduate studies on phytochemical compounds present in plant foods, especially polyphenolic compounds and proanthocyanins, their identification through spectrometric techniques, their biochemical potential as antioxidants and their effect on digestive enzymes in vitro, in vivo and in silico models.
Dr. Vazquez-Flores has collaborated in research networks in the innovation and development of functional foods and nutraceuticals like the Ibero-American CYTED program (Science and Technology for Development). In addition, she actively participates in the direction of research projects for students. Her work and commitment to the development of scientific evidence allow her to be an active member of the national system of researchers in Mexico since 2017.
