Lateral fluid percussion (LFP), an established model of traumatic brain injury in mice, is demonstrated. LFP fulfills three major criteria for animal models: validity, reliability and clinical relevance. The procedure, consisting of surgical craniotomy, fixation of hub followed by induction of injury, resulting in focal and diffuse injuries, is described.

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease. The Goeckerman regimen, formulated for the treatment of psoriasis, consists of exposure to ultraviolet B (UVB) light and application of crude coal tar (CCT). The following protocol is for the administration of Goeckerman therapy for the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis.

Analysis of LINE-1 Retrotransposition at the Single Nucleus Level
Pasano Bojang 1, Kenneth S. Ramos 1,2
1Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, University of Arizona College of Medicine, 2Center for Applied Genetics and Genomic Medicine, University of Arizona College of Medicine

Here we employ FISH methodology to track LINE-1 retrotransposition at the single nuclei level in chromosome spreads of HepG2 cell lines stably expressing synthetic LINE-1.

Here, we describe the isolation of enteric-glial cells from the intestinal-submucosa using sequential EDTA incubations to chelate divalent cations and then incubation in non-enzymatic cell recovery solution. Plating the resultant cell suspension on poly-D-lysine and laminin results in a highly enriched culture of submucosal glial cells for functional analysis.

Live Cell Imaging of the TGF- β/Smad3 Signaling Pathway In Vitro and In Vivo Using an Adenovirus Reporter System
Hao Chen *1, Thomas M.B. Ware *1, Josephine Iaria 1, Hong-Jian Zhu 1
1Department of Surgery (RMH), University of Melbourne

Here, we present a protocol for live cell imaging of TGF-β/Smad3 signaling activity using an adenovirus reporter system. This system tracks transcriptional activity in real-time and can be applied to both single cells in vitro and in live animalmodels.

Simultaneous Cryosectioning of Multiple Rodent Brains
Tabitha R.F. Green 1,2,3, J. Bryce Ortiz 1, Jordan L. Harrison 5, Jonathan Lifshitz 1,3,4, Rachel K. Rowe 1,3,4
1Department of Child Health, University of Arizona College of Medicine, 2Department of Biological Sciences, University of Bath, 3BARROW Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital, 4Phoenix Veteran Affairs Healthcare System, 5Department of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Arizona College of Medicine

Here, we present a protocol to freeze and section brain tissue from multiple animals as a timesaving alternative to processing single brains. This reduces staining variability during immunohistochemistry and reduces time cryosectioning and imaging.
