Ben Katz is a Research Associate at the lab of Professor Baruch Minke in the Department of Medical Neurobiology at the Hebrew University, Faculty of Medicine in Jerusalem, Israel. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Philosophy and a PhD. in Neurobiology with distinction from the Hebrew University.

During his graduate studies Dr. Katz research has focused on identifying structural elements participating in the assembly and light-dependent localization of the Drosophila TRP and TRPL channels and characterizing mechanisms of dark noise suppression in the Drosophila visual system. As a post-doctoral fellow in Alexander Binshtok’s lab, he studied a human carrying a unique loss of function mutation in the TRPV1 channel.
