Adeline Chang is an undergraduate researcher in the Division of Biology at Kansas State University. Her interest in research quickly grew when she attended Phage Hunters, a two-semester Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) course. She then joined the lab of Dr. Govindsamy Vediyappan where she studied the role of a multi-drug resistant efflux pump in Staphylococcus aureus. During her undergraduate career, Adeline has received several research awards such as the Johnson Cancer Research Center Cancer Research Award, Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry Grant, and the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Scholarship. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she intends to pursue a Master of Science degree in Biology focusing on Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
