Heather Holmes has been a Research Technologist in Dr. Michael Romero’s laboratory in Physiology & BME at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) for 15 years. In 2005, she received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Superior. During that time, she worked on several environmental projects including studies of the Great Lakes and coral reef ecology in Belize. After graduation, she continued environmental studies in California before coming back home to Minnesota to work at Mayo Clinic. In Dr. Romero’s lab she has gained experience in a wide variety of molecular and cellular imaging techniques. Over the past 7 years she and the lab have moved increasingly to in vivo imaging and quantitative assessments, specifically to further enable functional kidney assessment, i.e., in vivo renal morphology and physiology.
