Allison Yorita is a staff engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, California. She is a part of the Center for Bioengineering, the Center for Micro- and Nanotechnology, and the Engineering Directorate at LLNL. She received her Sc.B. in chemical engineering at Brown University and her Ph.D. in chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she worked on creating and characterizing microfabricated devices to detect neurotransmitters and nucleic acids. She conducted her postdoctoral research at LLNL and converted to a staff engineer in 2019. Her research interests focus on the microfabrication of flexible polymer microelectrode arrays, as well as integration of chemical sensors onto these polymer probes for biomedical applications.
