Zhenyi An is an Assistant Professional Researcher in the Department of Neurology, University of California, San Francisco. She received her undergraduate degree from Shandong University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
During Dr. An’s Ph.D. training she developed a keen focus on research about the function and signaling of the autophagy pathway with Dr. Beth Levine, her thesis advisor. As a post-doctoral fellow (2014 to 2019) in Dr. William A. Weiss’s lab at the department of neurology, University of California, San Francisco, she studied the roles of oncogenes EGFR and MYCN in regulating tumor growth and the tumor microenvironment.
Dr. An received fellowships and awards from Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, American Brain Tumor Association, National Cancer Institute (T32) and the UCSF-PBBR program.
