As a PhD candidate in Biomedical Sciences and Pharmaceutics (University of Liege and KU Leuven, Belgium), Estelle’s work aims to improve guidelines regarding the assessment and management of patients with disorders of consciousness. To this end, her work is divided in two main axes: 1) the characterization of pain and nociception in this population by using behavioural assessments, and 2) the development of a new, objective and motor-independent diagnostic tool based on electroencephalography and brain-computer interface technology in collaboration with the KU Leuven (ExpORL, Neuroscience department).
