Nu Zhang is an Associate Professor in Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics, University of Texas Health San Antonio, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Peking University, Beijing, China and a Ph.D. from Duke University, USA.

Dr. Zhang’s research interest has been focused on T lymphocytes. As a post-doctoral fellow (2008 to 2014) in Dr. Michael Bevan’s lab at University of Washington, Seattle, he studied the roles of transforming growth factor-beta during the differentiation of effector and memory CD8+ T cells.

In 2014, Dr. Zhang was recruited as faculty at UT Health San Antonio. He continues to study CD8+ T cells in health and diseases.
