Clostridium difficile ist ein Gram-positive, anaerobe, sporenbild Bakterium, das vor allem für Antibiotika-assoziierten Diarrhoe (AAD) verantwortlich ist und der eine bedeutende nosokomiale Erreger. C difficile ist notorisch schwierig zu isolieren und zu kultivieren und ist extrem empfindlich, auch geringe Mengen an Sauerstoff in der Umgebung. Hier sind Verfahren zur Isolierung von C. difficile aus Stuhlproben und anschließend Kultivierung C. difficile zur Herstellung von Glycerin-Stammlösungen für die Langzeitlagerung dargestellt. Techniken zur Herstellung und Auflisten Sporenvorräte im Labor für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen, einschließlich Mikroskopie abwärts und Tierstudien werden ebenfalls beschrieben. Diese Techniken erfordern eine anaerobe Kammer, die eine konsistente anaerobe Umgebung zu angemessenen Bedingungen für eine optimale C gewährleisten hält difficile Wachstum.
