Kai Wang is a Research Associate in the Division of Life Science, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong. He received his BSc degree from Sun Yat-sen University in China. And he just got his Ph.D. degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong in July, 2019.

During his Ph.D. training, the main target is figuring out signaling components that involved into mechanical stimuli-related process/ thigmomorphogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana. Especially how specific phosphorylation processes that can be fast regulated by mechanical stimuli and transfer signals to the whole parts of the plant. After biological verification of candidates identified from LC-MS/ MS data, several novel components like TREPH1 have been proved that involve into mechanotransduction.

During his Ph.D. training, Dr. Kai Wang received the School of Science Postgraduate Research Excellence Award once in HKUST (with HKD 20,000 prize). He was also selected for oral presentation in Hong Kong Inter-University Postgraduate Symposium in Biochemical Sciences at 2019.
