Kathrin Fuhrmann graduated in pharmacy from the Free University Berlin in 2007. She then went for a research internship to the University of Montreal and finished her pharmacy accreditation in Germany in 2008. Kathrin Fuhrmann was happy to proceed with a project on drug nanocrystals stabilized by functionalized polymeric coatings in the lab of Jean-Christophe Leroux at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at ETH Zurich, where she graduated in 2014. Since 2016 she is postdoc in the lab of Biogenic Nanotherapeutics, Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland, where she focusses on the set up of serum free cell culture for extracellular vesicle production and their purification and characterization by asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation and multi-angle static light scattering, respectively.
