Detection of Tilapia Lake Virus Using Conventional RT-PCR and SYBR Green RT-qPCR

This protocol diagnoses Tilapia Lake Virus (TiLV) in tilapia tissues using RT-PCR methodologies. The entire method is described from tissue dissection to total RNA extraction, followed by cDNA synthesis and detection of TiLV by either conventional PCR or quantitative PCR using dsDNA binding a fluorescent binding dye.

We present an RT-LAMP assay for the detection of TiLV in tilapia fish using simple instruments over a relatively short period of time compared to conventional RT-PCR techniques. This protocol may help control the epidemic spread of TiLVD, especially in developing countries.

Two eyestalk ablation protocols (i.e., cauterization and surgery approaches) were performed on anesthetized female crabs. The eyestalk ablation of mud crabs hastened the ripening of ovaries without decreasing the survival rate.

This work describes a novel surgical technique for extracapsular implantation of a personalized, 3-dimensional-printed, joint-preserving implant. This novel treatment aims to restore hip stability in young adult dogs suffering from hip dysplasia with laxity by uniquely reproducing the anatomical shape of the acetabular rim of the hip joint.
