Marta Cremonesi

Radiation Research Unit

Istituto Europeo di Oncologia (IEO) IRCCS, Milano, Italy

She graduated in Physics at the University of Milano (1993), subsequently receiving Medical Physics Specialization (1997).

She worked in the European Institute of Oncology (Milano, Italy) since 1994, in the Nuclear Medicine Department up to 2015 and then in the Radiation Research Unit, where she is Director.

She gained experience in nuclear medicine imaging, radiation protection, radioguided surgery, internal dosimetry and risk-benefit analysis for radionuclide therapy. At present, she also coordinates the radiomic projects on CT, MR, and PET images of her Institute.

Her main field of interest is internal dosimetry for Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy, Radioembolisation, and Radioimmunotherapy. She has focused efforts on the optimisation of these innovative therapies, evaluating impact of therapeutical schemes, clinical factors contributing to toxicity, and radiobiological models for dose-effect correlations.

She published 120 papers and 15 book chapters. She has been invited speaker at more than 50 International Meetings, referee and member of the commission of several Master and PhD Thesis, member of the commission of research projects of the French Institute of Health, referee for more than 60 paper for the most relevant Journals of Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics.

She received the 2020 Loevinger-Berman Award (MIRD) in recognition of contribution to medical internal dosimetry.
