Md Huzzatul Mursalin is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Ophthalmology Department, University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc degree from the University of Dhaka of Bangladesh, and a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dr. Mursalin completed his B.Sc and M.Sc in Microbiology and worked as a Manager, Quality Assurance of the diagnostic and research laboratories, and hospitals at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (2008-2015). During Dr. Mursalin’s training, he discovered bacterial outer membrane surface layer protein as an important contributor to the pathogenesis of Bacillus endophthalmitis (2015-2020). As a post-doctoral fellow (2020- in the Ophthalmology Department, University of Oklahoma Health Science Center he is investigating the role of inflammatory mediators on the pathogenesis of Bacillus endophthalmitis.
Dr. Mursalin received the Outstanding Graduate Student award from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, a PHF research support grant, and several travel awards to attend scientific conferences.
