Université de Strasbourg, INSERM, EFS Grand Est, BPPS UMR-S 1255, FMTS

Inès Guinard began her studies with a DUT in Biological Engineering and Health, then decided to continue her education by joining the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Strasbourg. She obtained a master's degree in developmental biology and stem cells. This allowed her to join the Inserm research unit UMRS1255 as a PhD student under the direction of Catherine Léon. The activity of her research laboratory is centered on the biology and pharmacology of blood platelets and on the various subjects which result from it such as hemostasis, thrombosis and transfusion. For the past two years, Ines has focused on the role of mechanobiological factors in platelet biogenesis in order to understand which mechanoreceptors and mechanotransduction pathways are involved in the perception of mechanical stress. The overall goal of this work is to understand how this impacts the main function of megakaryocytes: platelet release.
