Eran Perlson completed a B.Sc. in biological studies at Tel-Aviv University and a Ph.D. at the Weizmann Institute of Science in molecular and cellular neurobiology. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow he focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. In October 2010, Eran returned to Tel-Aviv University Medical School as an Assistant Professor to continue his research on axonal transport and neurodegeneration. At 2017 he become Associate Professor. The long-term research goal of his lab is to understand molecular communications mechanisms between the neurons to its environment that plays essential role in neuronal survival and synapse stability. His scientific work has earned him a large number of distinguished grants, awards and honors, including the ERC starter grant (2012), Sieratzki-Korczyn Prize for Advances in Neuroscience (2010); The Muscular Dystrophy Association, development grant, (2008); and The Milton Safenowitz Post Doctoral Fellowship for ALS Research, ALSA, (2005). Eran is the author of numerous publications in high profile journals and invited speaker to leading international meetings.
