Espèces distinctes de<em&gt; Leishmania,</em&gt; Un parasite protozoaire de la famille<em&gt; Trypanosomatidae</em&gt;, Causent généralement différentes manifestations de la maladie humaine. Les parasites ont été conçues pour exprimer la luciférase, et ces souris ont été introduites dans deux intradermique ou intraveineuse. Les mesures quantitatives de la bioluminescence de la luciférase de la conduite du transgénique<em&gt; Leishmania</em&gt; Parasites dans la souris ont été faites en utilisant IVIS.
