스핀 에코 해결 방목 발생 (SERGIS) 기술은 불규칙하게 형성 된 결정과 관련된 길이 스케일을 조사하는 데 사용되었습니다. 중성자는 자기장의 두 개의 잘 정의된 영역을 통과한다; 샘플 전후에 하나씩. 두 자기장 영역은 극성 반대의 영역을 가지고 있으며, 혼란없이 두 지역을 통해 여행하는 중성자가 반대 방향으로 동일한 수의 경기 침체를 겪을 수 있도록 조정된다. 이 경우 두 번째 팔의 중성자 경기 침체는 첫 번째 암을 "에코"라고하며 빔의 원래 편광이 유지된다. 중성자가 시료와 상호작용하고 제2암을 통해 경로를 탄성적으로 산란하면 제1팔과 동일하지 않으며 원래편광은 복구되지 않는다. 중성자 빔의 탈극화는 매우 작은 각도(<50 μrad)에서 매우 민감한 프로브이지만 여전히 고강도 발산 빔을 사용할 수 있습니다. 기준 샘플에서 와 비교하여 샘플에서 반사되는 빔의 편광감소는 샘플 내의 구조와 직접 관련이 있을 수 있다.
중성자 반사 측정에서 관찰된 산란에 비해 SERGIS 신호는 종종 약하며 조사 중인 시료 내의 평면 구조가 희석, 무질서, 크기 및 다각형 또는 중성자 산란 대비가 낮으면 관찰될 가능성이 낮다. 따라서, 측정되는 시료가 평평한 기판상에 박막으로 구성되고 중성자를 강하게 산란하거나 특징이 격자에 배치되는 적당히 크기의 특징(30nm ~ 5 μm)의 고밀도를 포함하는 산란 기능을 포함하는 경우, 좋은 결과는 SERGIS 기술을 사용하여 얻을 가능성이 크다. SERGIS 기술의 장점은 시료의 평면에서 구조를 프로브할 수 있다는 것입니다.
